In summer 2011, 10–14 curators from around the world were selected to participate in the Curatorial Intensive for a rigorous 8-day schedule of workshops, discussions, critiques, and presentations, as well as site visits to local institutions, private collections and artists’ studios.

What Is Curating?

Program dates:

December 14–16, 2010

This program, co-produced with the Mohile Parikh Center in Mumbai, examined an evolving definition of contemporary curatorial practice, shaped by institutional professionals, independent curators, and artists.

In October 2010 in New York ICI is organizing The Curatorial Intensive for emerging curators internationally who want to learn about curating in the public realm.

International Research

Program dates:

October 13, 2010–January 26, 2011

This course, developed with the Philadelphia Exhibitions Initiative (PEI) for 8 curators based in the Philadelphia area, focuses on looking at how to extend networks and develop research practices that can enhance participants’ current curatorial practices.
