This March, Independent Curators International (ICI) produces the Curatorial Intensive: Considering Publics and Contexts, a ten-day professional development program that offers curators the opportunity to discuss, among colleagues, the concepts, logistics, and challenges of organizing exhibitions.
November 24–30, 2013
This program marks the second Curatorial Intensive developed in Spanish by ICI. In collaboration with the Gerencia de Artes Plásticas y Visuales of the Instituto Distrital de las Artes, the Curatorial Intensive in Bogotá, Colombia will examine the developments of the curatorial field and the changing role of the curator, while exploring strategies and methodologies to develop programs and institutions, collection building, regional and international research, and the logistics of managing projects.
October 27–November 2, 2013
Developed by ICI in collaboration with the Mori Art Museum, the Curatorial Intensive: What Does it Mean to be International? will examine the current state of the Asian contemporary art scene within the larger global context.

Curating Time-Based Media is a ten-day professional development program that offers curators the opportunity to discuss, among colleagues, the concepts, logistics, and challenges of organizing exhibitions featuring durational art, installations, performance, dance, video, film, and sound art.
June 25–September 25, 2013
The Curatorial Seminar will focus on Istanbul as a case study, exploring a number of key issues that challenge our understanding of what constitutes an emerging art scene, the strengths and pitfalls of working within such a context, and questions of how to develop a curatorial practice that supports the development of artists and local infrastructure within the international art world.
August 18–24, 2013
Developed by ICI in collaboration with MACBA - Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Buenos Aires, the Curatorial Intensive: On Curating: Between Theory and Practice will examine the developments of the curatorial field and the changing role of the curator, while exploring research-based initiatives, independent projects, collections and institutional building, and new financial architectures, among other topics.

Focusing on new models for curating and exhibition development, ICI’s annual summer Curatorial Intensive offers curators the opportunity to meet colleagues from around the world and share ideas on how to push the parameters of their practice.
