Independent Curators International (ICI) produces exhibitions, events, publications, research and training opportunities for curators and diverse audiences around the world. Established in 1975 and headquartered in New York, ICI is a hub that connects emerging and established curators, artists, and art spaces, forging international networks and generating new forms of collaborations. ICI provides access to the people and practices that are key to current developments in the field, inspiring fresh ways of seeing and contextualizing contemporary art.
Sasha Obukhova is an art historian, and since 2012, Head of the Research Department of Garage, Moscow. She previously held positions at the Moscow Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA), State Tretyakov Gallery, and National Center for Contemporary Art. In 2000, Obukhova was part of the team that organized the permanent exhibition of 20th century Russian art at the Tretyakov Gallery. As a Co-Founder and Director of the Art Projects Foundation, she has also compiled an extensive archive of contemporary Russian art. Obukhova is a member of the Kandinsky Award expert board.
